Child safety
Every child’s safety
comes first.
GDF exists to build kids up — skill, confidence and a love of the game. None of that matters unless every child is safe while they’re with us. Here’s how we approach that.
Our coaching standards
What every GDF coach must have
Working With Children Check
Every coach delivering GDF sessions is required to hold a valid Working With Children Check.
Led by a qualified coach
Sessions are led by Gavin de Niese, a former professional player with 100+ NPL games and a genuine pathway to show for it.
Respect, always
Kindness and respect for every child come first — the same standard we ask every player to bring to the pitch.
Our environment
How we keep sessions safe
- Grouped by age and ability — every player trains at the right level, with appropriate supervision for their group.
- Parents and guardians are welcome to stay and watch any session.
- Clear communication with parents before, during and after every term — you always know what your child is doing and why.
- A positive-only environment — encouragement over criticism, for every child, every session.
